dc.description.abstractThe thesis “Unstandardized working process in Asia Chemical Corporation (ACC)” investigates about among typical cases faced by a business in growth and expansion. The problem does not only exist in weak businesses but also in companies with good business results. The idea of the topic comes from the author's experience when working at the company. After that, many discussions have taken place to clarify the issues in the ACC. The other data such as a financial report, customer complaint, inventory report, and quality report has been collected. Based on that information, the overview of the situation of ACC is clarified. Then, the detailed plan has been drawn up with the support of the thesis supervisor. Several depth interviews are performed, and data is analyzed to find out that the net profit margin of ACC is declining despite the increase in revenue. It is considered a symptom and a potential risk that should be solved. A lot of problems that are the cause of symptoms have been listed as problem mess and initial map. Finally, the main problem in an organization is defined that is “Unclear working process” after many discussions with the top manager of ACC, thesis supervisor, analysis by 4M, 5W+H tools, and comparing with some research about that same problem of the other business. “Lack of standardized process” is identified as the main cause of the problem in the organization. After that, an action plan is chosen based on effectiveness and the cost. The company will select a special team to manage the project with the participant of BOD to improve their regular power to implement the project. Besides, the managers of each department will temporarily participate. The action plan focuses to use the current resource of the company to solve the problem. However, the support of another team is also important, especially the IT team. Releasing a standard process for the whole activity in the company with help them improve the performance, save cost, and earn more profit.en_US
