Abstract: | In today's fast-paced and competitive life, students are increasingly relying on caffeinated beverages to improve their cognitive performance. Drinks containing caffeine such as tea, coffee or energy drinks are becoming increasingly popular because of their ability to improve concentration as well as study and work performance. Recognizing the prevalence of caffeine consumption, this study aims to analyze its impact on cognitive performance of students in Ho Chi Minh City, as well as explore the factors that drive consumption behavior. The results of the research are intended to be valuable for educational institutions, beverage companies and healthcare organizations. The study used the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) combined with four independent variables: Perceived Usefulness (PU), Perceived Ease of Use (PEU), Perceived Risk (PR) and Social Influence (SI), while the dependent variable was Perceived Performance. Data were gathered from 210 students at universities in Ho Chi Minh City, through a survey questionnaire and Likert scale, after removing invalid responses. The data was analyzed following IBM SPSS. The findings indicated that the two factors that most influenced caffeine consumption were Perceived Usefulness and Perceived Ease of Use, with Perceived Usefulness having the strongest impact, as students often associate caffeine with improved concentration and academic performance. According to the research findings, the major suggestion is to encourage students to use caffeine in moderation in order to gain the benefits of improved concentration and academic performance, while also addressing concerns about long-term health consequences. This encourages students to use caffeine appropriately and safely |
