dc.description.abstract | Management in an information system is not easy at all, many businesses need management. Manager of the information technology department in a company is often based on empirical evidence or learning by doing rather than theory-based. In that way, he or she obtains knowledge and improves the skill of management. Too much on the traditional approach, it is just mainly via observation and experience modothogy raises too much bias and could impact the quality of the management. In this thesis, it studies the management of information systems in an educational organization based on theory and experimental research in order to find out the relationship between the theory and empirical study. The methodology of the study is based on the qualitative model, in-depth research would be the tool in collecting data from many people working within the school. The data of the interviewees in the thesis support the evidence-based in terms of determining what is really happening within the organization or not. The thesis is just expected to introduce a new method that could work on many fields that is problem solving in organization (PSO) which could be quite familiar with the manager doing in the business management field but a little bit strange in management of information systems. The new approach would be able to help to analyse the data based on whatever occurred in the organization. Based on that it was analyzed and justified what would be a real problem to solve by implicating the PSO model. In fact, the problem is everywhere, not only in the information system constantly. Addressing the actual problem is more critical than solving the problem. Thus the aim of the thesis is to expect bringing out a new way and maybe a new look that in EMASI school the thesis was studied and theory of PSO was implemented to find the real problems of the information technology department. Many managers could be confused that the reason why the problem of the information technology department could not be based on the technical perspective instead of the perspective of problem solving. The thesis in business administration major could be proved that the problem regarding management should be implicated by the management field rather than the technical field. Certainly the thesis was not ambitious to solve the bigger problem in a large scope, but approaching the problem in a big scope and narrowing it down and taking out the minor aspect of the problem to focus on is the aim of the PSO thesis. | en_US |
