Abstract: | The increasing number of gasoline vehicles has resulted in several global environmental and energy issues. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate factors affecting the intention to purchase electric motorcycles of Vietnamese in Ho Chi Minh city. Based on this study's results, administrators can minimise environmental pollution and energy crisis due to the increasing number of gasoline vehicles globally and in Viet Nam in particular. The conceptual model was analysed using the online survey data from Vietnamese participants. By using quantitative and qualitative methods, this study examined the effect of seven main elements, including "perceived usefulness," "perceived risks," "subjective norms," "perceived behavioural control," "attitude," "charging infrastructure", and "perceived quality" on "intention to buy electric motorcycles." An empirical analysis of 200 Ho Chi Minh City participants showed that increased subjective norms and attitudes could positively influence consumers' intention to buy electric motorcycles in Ho Chi Minh City. However, the results also indicated a negative linkage between the perceived risks and customers' attitudes toward electric motorcycles. Therefore, based on the results, the study suggested some theoretical and managerial implications for academics, administrators and policymakers. |
