Abstract: | This assignment focuses on Sofis company, a local seafood manufacturing business based in Long An province, which provides seafood processing services and seafood products to business customers. In the last 3 years, the company has witnessed a remarkably high and steady increase in the voluntary turnover rates of minor ethnic factory workers. Through mainly qualitative research methods and data collected via interviews and desk research, the main problem was defined as poor leadership of factory managers. Subsequently, three potential causes are discovered including limited knowledge and learning, lack of leadership training/ coaching and deficient reward system. These were then validated using theory-informed approach and the company’s internal information, and the results indicated deficient reward system as the root cause. Accordingly, three alternative solutions were designed based on three common reward system methods: group-based reward, 3P compensation and total reward system. Based on the company’s requirements and condition, the group-based reward solution was selected for implementation. A detailed action plan was also developed for this solution. |
