Abstract: | 1) Purpose: The purpose of this research is to understand the subjective well-being (SWB) of Vietnamese’ women and its influencing factors as well as to identify the key groups and areas in order to provide a basis for the formulation of relevant policies to improve residents’ level of wellbeing and happiness. 2) Methods: This study analyzes the influencing factors of SWB of women by using UNICEF’s Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey 6 (MICS6) data obtained from 700 sample clusters, which received a total of 10,542 completely responses from 15-49 year old women in two major cities Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and six regions across Vietnam in order to achieve the purpose of representing the whole country. Cantril’s Ladder of Life Scale was utilized for the purpose of determining the level of life satisfaction, Ordered Probit Model Regression and Ordinary Least Square Regression are implemented to explore the factors that influence women’s SWB. 3) Results: The response rate of SWB was 97,88%. Nationwide, 67% of women had high SWB (score 7–10) in the Thriving zone, 28,7% in the Struggling zone (score 5-6), and 4,3% in the Suffering zone (score 0-4). Education level, Wealth Index have a significant positive effect on SWB, but Women’s age and Marital Status have negative effect on SWB. Women with a greater level of education, better economic conditions will be more likely to have higher level of SWB. The greater a woman’s age, the less satisfied they are. Single women tend to feel more satisfaction than married and divorced women. 4) Conclusion: Improving women’s well-being in particular and the well-being of the nation as a whole, is a long-term strategy toward SDGs. Thus, a concentration on researching wellbeing is beneficial for the healthy life of society. |
