Abstract: | The motivation behind this research is to address the critical need for enhancing the effectiveness of air traffic control specialist training to achieve global harmonization at the Southern Air Traffic Management Company (SORATS). With the resurgence and rapid growth of civil aviation activities post-pandemic, ensuring that air traffic controllers can operate efficiently under varying and complex conditions is paramount. This research aims to fill the existing gaps in training methodologies and provide actionable insights to improve training programs, ultimately contributing to safer and more efficient air traffic management. The primary problem this research addresses is the inadequacy of current training programs to prepare air traffic controllers for handling chaotic and high-intensity situations effectively. Despite existing training protocols, controllers often face difficulties when unexpected events, such as adverse weather conditions or sudden increases in air traffic, occur. This research seeks to identify these deficiencies and propose improvements that can be integrated into training programs to better equip controllers with the necessary skills and competencies. To solve this problem, the research employs a quantitative surveys with air traffic controllers at SORATS. The study uses statistical analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of current training modules and identifies key areas for improvement. The implications of this research are far-reaching. The findings suggest that enhancing training programs by focusing on the identified gaps can significantly improve air traffic controllers' performance. Practical applications include revising training curricula to incorporate more realistic simulation scenarios and developing standard operating procedures for uncommon but critical situations. Theoretically, the research contributes to the body of knowledge on air traffic control training and provides a foundation for future studies aimed at achieving global harmonization in air traffic management. |
