Sustainable supply chain management is crucial in driving the transition toward a sustainable future. Under the theoretical perspectives of the resource-based and dynamic capability views, this research aims to construct a comprehensive research model illustrating how learning orientation impacts the performance of sustainable supply chain management performance, with collaborative innovation and supply chain agility serving as sequential mediators. A mixed-methods approach was adopted, specifically employing a sequential explanatory design to provide a detailed understanding of the quantitative data gathered from 216 manufacturing firms across various industries in Vietnam, analyzed using SmartPLS 4.0 software. Complementary qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with 12 owner-managers of manufacturing companies in Vietnam’s Southeast region and analyzed using thematic coding. The findings reveal that a robust learning orientation within organizations significantly boosts sustainable supply chain performance through a dual mediation pathway. Collaborative innovation emerges as an initial mediator, fostering a collaborative culture of knowledge exchange and creative problem-solving. This facilitates enhanced supply chain agility, enabling firms to respond adeptly to market shifts and environmental challenges. The study highlights that organizations with strong learning orientations are more proficient at integrating innovative approaches and agile practices, ultimately leading to superior sustainability outcomes and a competitive edge. This study offers key insights for businesses in crafting sustainable, resilient supply chain strategies through organizational learning. Future research should expand the study population and include factors like market orientation, entrepreneurial orientation, and technology orientation to provide a broader perspective on strategic orientation in the evolving landscape of supply chain managementen_US
