Smart city development associated with green growth is becoming an irreversible global trend, forcing countries and localities, especially in Asia, to quickly adjust infrastructure to solve urgent environmental problems. In that context, the race to invest in smart city development towards green growth is becoming increasingly fierce, becoming a focus in bilateral and multilateral cooperation between countries. For Ho Chi Minh City, grasping this trend is an inevitable requirement to ensure sustainable development and enhance competitiveness. However, the reality in Vietnam shows that there are still many challenges, such as: the scale of investment projects is still small, lacking breakthroughs; not attracting many high-quality projects from countries with advanced technology; supporting industries and digital transformation industries have not yet met development needs. Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City needs to learn from the experiences of other countries and propose solutions and policies suitable to practical conditions, in order to effectively promote the process of building smart cities associated with green growth, contributing to realizing the goal of sustainable development in the long term.Hen_US
