Ownership structure and firm performance: Empirical study in Vietnamese stock exchange

Abstract

This paper aims to examine the relationship between ownership structure in terms of institutional and managerial ownership and firm performance. Using Bayesian approach and the data-set of companies listed in the VN30 basket of Vietnamese stock exchange in the period of 2012–2017, the results show a statistically significant negative relationship between institutional ownership and firm performance while a positive relationship between managerial ownership and firm performance at significant level.
