Abstract: | Peer pressure in this day and age has been a topic of interest for researchers for decades because of its significant influence on reality. Many global events have occurred that have pushed the popularity of peer pressure to an unprecedented high, which has been widely associated with negative outcomes, such as deviant behavior, academic underachievement, and mental health problems, especially in the academic environment, the most affected factor is the academic performance of students. The main objective of this paper is to determine the roots of peer pressure, meaning examining how causes including Societal pressure, Parental pressure, and Selfpressure affect the level of Peer pressure. And from Peer pressure, the study assesses the significance of this status for Academic performance. The study used the software SPSS 20.0 to serve the analysis of data collected from 305 respondents whose educational background is mostly students and undergraduates. The results of this research paper have yielded remarkable findings of both aspects that are theoretical and managerial implications. At the end of the study, the authors discuss the contributions, limitations as well as recommendations for future research and related objects. |
