Abstract: | This study assesses the impact of off-farm employment on people's welfare through the 2016 Vietnam Rural Household Resource Access Survey (VARHS) dataset is estimated by three factors such as income, food expenditure and clean energy use. Unlike previous studies, we used linear regression, logistic regression and robust standard errors model. The results show that households' participation in off-farm activities has a great influence on increasing income, spending on food and using clean energy. Participating in off-farm jobs will contribute to improving people's living standards by increasing their income and food expenditure compared to when they only do agricultural activities. In addition, the increasing use of clean energy also contributes to improving the health of households, thereby improving people's welfare |
