Abstract: | Students taking information technology applied courses (IT applied subjects) as part of the university curriculum no longer find teamwork unfamiliar. It could be stated that teamwork is an indispensable aspect of university students. Therefore, this research was carried out to assess the variables influencing team effectiveness in IT applied courses of students at University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. The findings of this work would assist students to work in teams more effectively. This study looked at the impact of seven major components, including "team structure", "leadership", "role allocation", "team harmony", "member diversity", and "member flexibility" on "team effectiveness" by using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The online survey received 372 respondents who have completed teamwork projects or assignments for IT applied subjects. The data was then analyzed with SmartPLS software and revealed that all considered factors except for role allocation could have a favorable impact on UEH students’ team efficiency while taking IT applied courses.
