Abstract: | Climate change is a global problem, especially since it has the most serious impact on the areas near the aquaculture such as Bac Lieu province. Rice fields are gradually flooded and cannot be cultivated. In addition, people do not fully understand the value of land, turning a series of dry areas into economic shrimp ponds, but the ponds formed in the process of urban development are still abandoned and gradually polluted. The problem of people living but impacting the ecosystem environment every day will get worse. To cope with the reality of the environment and humans, the research and implementation of solutions to harmonize the subjects is an urgent issue. Humans will still be the main subject, in addition, the living environment of humans will be regulated to return to nature to meet the economic needs of the region. Through this direction, the subjects will be oriented toward sustainability for future generations. In response to the pressing concerns of global climate change, our research group aspires to contribute to the adaptation and resilience of Bac Lieu City, Vietnam. Focusing on the water challenges faced by Wards 7 and 8, we delve into a comprehensive investigation with the ultimate goal of improving the lives of residents and fostering sustainable social development. Our primary objective is to design a public space landscape aligned with the principles of a sponge city, tackling issues like drainage, desalination, and water pollution. This multifaceted approach aims to not only alleviate the immediate water concerns but also generate positive ripple effects. By mitigating the negative impacts of water problems on society, economy, and environment, we envision a thriving Bac Lieu City where public spaces promote both environmental well-being and economic prosperity, ultimately paving the way for a future that is both resilient and sustainable. |
