Currently, the robust and rapid growth of the Vietnamese economy is a hot topic both domestically and internationally. A pivotal driving force contributing to this growth, especially at the micro level, is the issue of entrepreneurship. However, due to attracting substantial attention, the shortcomings of entrepreneurship have also begun to emerge, particularly as more and more young individuals engage in entrepreneurship merely as a "trend". As a premier economics university in the country and ranked first in the southern region, the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) has always been a focal point for entrepreneurship-related matters. Therefore, the objective of this study is to identify the factors influencing the perception of UEH students regarding this current reality. This is based on their characteristics, conditions, and the actual situation. The research employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods. The findings reveal that three factors will influence UEH students' perception of the trend-following entrepreneurial reality. All three factors, including perceived behavioral control, personality traits, and entrepreneurial environment, have a positive effect, with statistical significance at the 5% level according to the research model established by the authors. The managerial implications drawn from the research results will center on creating a conducive environment, fostering selfeducation, and enhancing other educational conditions. All efforts aim to provide students with more opportunities to access the practical values of entrepreneurship and encourage the cultivation of distinctiveness when embarking on entrepreneurial endeavorsen_US
