Abstract: | “Scientific Research” is no longer a strange phrase for students in particular and colleges and universities in general. In order to capture that trend, every year UEH University organizes scientific research activities through awards such as excellent subject topic UEH500, Young Researcher Award, Euréka Scientific Research Student Award and many other awards. This also attracted a lot of attention from the students in the school and among them there were also many excellent projects that won prizes. However, it is not an easy process from being interested in scientific research to completing and obtaining a recognized scientific research topic. This requires learners to have sufficient professional qualifications along with a certain persistence. For the same reason, this study was born to find and analyze the factors that have influenced the participation in scientific research of UEH students. From there, it is possible to draw the most objective judgments so that the school can come up with appropriate directions to help scientific research activities develop and perfect. Through the research process, the author used the theory of Scientific Research of Duy Tan University, Can Tho University, University of Finance - Marketing, ... Therefore, the author's team conducted the research. research for UEH University students. The author conducts qualitative research to adjust and supplement the scale, thereby forming a formal questionnaire for quantitative research. The income data was cleaned and entered with 281 valid samples. The results of the analysis of the scale on Motivation and the peer pressure scale are converged into a significant factor. For the Scale of Student Competence, it is divided into two significant factors: Student Competence and Cooperation Capacity. Therefore, the research model has 5 factors affecting the participation in scientific research such as Motivation and Peer pressure, Student capacity, Collaboration capacity, Workshop and Class and Research environment. After regression analysis, the model results show that 2 factors have the same impact on scientific research participation with the strongest influencing factors being Motivation and Peer pressure (Beta coefficient = 0.885) and 3 factors that have a negative impact on participation in scientific research are student capacity, resear environment, and ability to cooperate. Based on that result, the authors make recommendations to raise awareness about participation in scientific research at UEH University. |
